REGISTERED STUDENTS ONLY at Berkeley Preparatory Academy, Summerville Preparatory Academy, and Mevers School of Excellence can register through the school-specific links for all youth programs.

2025 Spring Coach Pitch
βΎ 2024 Coach Pitch Baseball (Co-Ed)
At the YMCA, our Coach Pitch program is designed to help young players build foundational skills while fostering a love for the game. This instructional division emphasizes the development of hitting, fielding, and general game understanding. The focus is on creating a positive experience for every child, minimizing the competitive aspects of the game. There will be no keeping of score, and players will rotate through different positions on the field to ensure a well-rounded experience. This program is perfect for players just beginning their baseball journey!
π Registration Dates:
- Open: November 21, 2024
- Close: February 9, 2025
- No late registrations will be accepted.
π Practice & Game Schedule:
- Practices: Teams will practice one weekday per week for 50 minutes between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Practices will start in March (exact date TBD).
- Games: Game days will be determined by the number of registered participants, and in past seasons, games have been held on Saturdays. The full game schedule will be released at least 7 days before games begin.
πΆ Ages/Divisions:
- T-Ball: 4-5 years old
- Coach Pitch: 6-8 years old
The YMCA places athletes in divisions based on their age at the time registration ends. The cutoff date is the last day of registration for the season.
π Uniforms: Participants must provide their own:
- Grey baseball pants
- Bat
- Glove
- Helmet
- Cleats (metal cleats are not allowed in any age group)
The YMCA will provide a game jersey and cap for each participant.

2025 Spring T-ball
βΎ 2024 T-Ball Baseball (Co-Ed)
At the YMCA, our T-ball program is designed to introduce the youngest players to the basics of baseball in a fun and supportive environment. Volunteer coaches will work with kids ages 4-5 to teach essential skills like hitting from a T, catching, and fielding. The focus is on skill development and getting children excited about the game while building a solid foundation for future seasons in Coach Pitch, travel baseball, or travel softball.
Our T-ball program meets athletes where they are, whether they are starting at age 4 or age 5, and helps them grow and enjoy the game!

Weβre excited to open registration for our Winter Basketball League at the Cane Bay Family YMCA! Check out the details below:
π Registration Details:
- Registration Dates: September 17 β December 13, 2024
- Registration Fee: $65 for members, $85 for nonmembers
- No late registrations will be accepted.
π League Information:
- Season Start Date: Early January 2025 (Exact date TBD)
- Ages:
- Males: 4-15
- Females: 4-13
- Competitive Division (Males): 10-13* (see evaluation details below)
π Practice & Game Schedule:
- Practices: One weekday per week, 5:00 PM β 8:00 PM (starts January, date TBD)
- Games: Days TBD based on registered participants, typically Saturdays and Sundays. Schedules will be released 7 days prior to games.

Cane Bay Family YMCA
1655 Cane Bay Blvd., Summerville, SC 29486Β *Games may also take place at BPA, MSE or another facility in Berkeley County depending on the needs of the program.

π Evaluation Criteria for Competitive Division:
- Mandatory Evaluation Date: December 15, 2024
- Ages 12-13: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Ages 10-11: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Cane Bay Family YMCA
- Evaluation Details: Closed evaluation; only registered players and coaches allowed in the gym. Players will be assessed on attitude, technique, ball handling, and teamwork.
β οΈ Important Notes:
- Players in the competitive division may not receive equal playing time.
- Accommodation requests are accepted only during registration are only accepted during registration and are not guaranteed; no requests will be accepted after that.Β There are no accommodation requests for the competitive division.
- Metal earrings and other jewelry must be removed before games and practices.

π 2024 Spring Soccer (Co-Ed)
At the YMCA, we believe in using soccer as a tool to develop each participant physically, mentally, and spiritually. Through our programs, we emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship, skill development, and goal setting, all while fostering a fun and esteem-building atmosphere. Players will have the opportunity to learn fundamental soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending in a supportive, non-competitive environment.

- Open: November 11, 2024
- Close: February 9, 2025
π Practice & Game Schedule:
- Practices: Teams will practice one weekday per week for 50 minutes between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Practice will start in August (exact date TBD).
- Games: Game days will be determined by the number of registered participants, typically on Saturdays. Game schedules will be released at least 7 days before the first games.
πΆ Ages/Divisions (co-ed):
- 4-5 Division
- 6-7 Division
- 8-9 Division
- 10-12 Division

π YMCA Soccer Rules & Regulations:
- Jewelry Policy: No metal jewelry is allowed to be worn during games or practices (including earrings, necklaces, anklets, and hair accessories). Earrings must be removed for all athletic activities.
- Refunds: The YMCA does not provide refunds for youth sports programs.

π 2024 Spring Youth Volleyball (Co-Ed)
At the YMCA, our youth and teen sports programs use sports as a tool to develop each participant physically, mentally, and spiritually. We emphasize good sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting, and skill development in a fun, esteem-building atmosphere. Kids will have the opportunity to learn basic volleyball fundamentals such as underhand serving, setting, hitting, and digging in a non-competitive environment. Weβve also added a competitive division, where athletes can learn higher-level skills while enjoying friendly competition! π
π Registration Dates:
- Open: November 11, 2024
- Close: February 9, 2025
(No late registrations will be accepted)
π Practice & Game Schedule:
- Practices: Teams will practice one weekday per week for 50 minutes between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Practices will start in March (exact date TBD).
- Games: Game days will be determined by the number of registered participants, typically on Fridays, and Saturdays. Game schedules will be released at least 7 days before the first games.
π Uniforms:
- The YMCA will provide a jersey. Participants must provide their own black shorts (tight-fitting recommended but not required) and volleyball knee pads, which are mandatory for games and practices. Players without knee pads will not be eligible to play.

- 13-17 Division
- Competitive Division (ages 11-17)
The YMCA places athletes based on their age at registration, with the cutoff date being the end of registration for each season. Divisions are subject to change based on the number of registered participants.
π Competitive Division Info:
We will host an evaluation the weekend after registration closes (February 15 and/or 16). Participation in the evaluation is required for those interested in the competitive divisionβno exceptions.
π Evaluation Criteria:
- Any interested and REGISTERED volleyball players aged 11-17 (as of February 15) may attend the evaluation. An email will be sent around February 10, 2024, from [email protected]. Please save this email address to your contacts!
Evaluation will be based on:
- Attitude
- Technique and mechanics (movement and footwork)
- Judgement and focus
- Ball handling
- Play at the net
- Teamwork
