Youth Sports

YMCA of Greater Charleston Youth Sports programs promote healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition, the value of participation over winning and team building. Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators by contributing their time as volunteer coaches and team parents as well as being their kid’s number one fan. Our family branch specialize in a variety of youth sports from baseball, t-ball, softball, soccer, and basketball to volleyball, and flag football.

WHAT MAKES YOUTH SPORTS AT THE Y SPECIAL?

·         Values-Based: Coaches build their instruction on a foundation of the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

·         Inclusive: We believe every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive through youth sports participation.

·         Skill Development: Players learn to work as part of a team, develop a winning mindset, and practice to improve their skills.
